Randall E. King is a founding member and Managing Partner of Anderson King Energy Consultants, LLC ("AK"). Prior to forming AK in 2012,
Mr. King was a Managing Director for Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s oil and gas divestiture business and supervised a team of professionals based in Houston. Mr. King joined Petrie Parkman at its founding in 1989 and was extensively involved in closing over $65B of transactions at the firm. His experience includes advising clients on over 130 divestitures with Petrie Parkman, as well as numerous acquisition, merger, fairness opinion, and restructuring assignments for public and private companies of all sizes. He has a long history of working with the public and private upstream independent sector in providing liquidity options and strategic transaction services.

A few of Mr. King’s notable assignments include:

  • Successfully executing the sale of assets and joint ventures for majors and large independents including Apache, Devon, Forest, Petrohawk, Pioneer, Unocal, Texaco, BP, ARCO and Occidental
  • Assisting the investors of privately-held Anschutz, Chief Oil & Gas, Concho Resources, Hillwood, O’Brien, Medicine Bow, LLOG Exploration, Laredo Energy, and United States Exploration monetize their interests on an attractive basis
  • Working closely with the U.S. Department of Energy on the largest privatization in U.S. history, the 1998 sale of the Elk Hills Naval Petroleum Reserve
  • Being continuously involved in the oil and gas asset and company acquisition and divestiture market since 1989, thus being able to bring to bear on behalf of the firm’s clients his extensive track record and unmatched experience base.

A registered petroleum engineer, Mr. King is a former Vice President of Netherland, Sewell & Associates, an engineering consulting firm based in Dallas, Texas. Prior to joining Netherland Sewell in 1981, Mr. King held several management and engineering positions with Exxon Company U.S.A.`s production and corporate planning departments. His experience in the oil and gas industry includes a heavy emphasis on reservoir engineering and reserve and economic evaluation of oil and gas properties.

Mr. King received his B.S. (honors) in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alabama. Mr. King is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers.

Bill Anderson, PE

William D. Anderson, PE, is a founding member and Managing Partner of Anderson King Energy Consultants, LLC (“AK”). Prior to the formation of AK, Mr. Anderson formed Anderson O&G, Inc. (“AOG”) in 2005, a boutique energy sector advisory and consulting business oriented towards acquisition and divestiture activities. AOG successfully closed over 35 separate transactions as financial advisor or co-advisor with an aggregate value of over $4.2B. Mr. Anderson provides ongoing consulting services to clients including: LLOG Exploration Company, SUNOCO, Crimson Energy Partners, Axis Energy Corporation, Trek Resources, Inc., and LoIn Energy Corporation.

Prior to forming AOG, Mr. Anderson served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Wynn-Crosby Energy, Inc. He was responsible for business development, operational planning, and direct supervision of the engineering, geo-science, and land departments.
Mr. Anderson was instrumental in the implementation of a growth strategy aimed at maximizing investor return and exposing investors to significant upside while effectively balancing risk with rewards. This effort culminated in November 2004, when Wynn-Crosby Energy, Inc. and its eight limited partnerships were sold to Petrohawk Energy Corporation for $424MM. The total enterprise returned 4.6 dollars for every equity dollar invested, yielded an average annual internal rate of return of 56%, and had a combined acquisition and development program cost of $0.59 per MCFE over its ten year life.

Mr. Anderson is a registered petroleum engineer and is a former Senior Vice President and Partner of Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc. At Netherland Sewell he served as team leader for major projects in the Mid-Continent, Permian, North & South Louisiana, and South Texas basins, as well as for projects in Europe, SE Asia, and Africa. These studies involved reservoir characterization, material balance, volumetric reserve analysis, and economic evaluation of enhancement opportunities. Clients included Mobil Oil Corporation, Exxon Company U.S.A., Hunt Oil Corporation, The World Bank, Shell Nigeria, and Shell Western E&P. Prior to joining Netherland Sewell in 1983, Mr. Anderson held several positions with Exxon Company U.S.A. including Supervising Reservoir Engineer managing five large offshore fields.

Mr. Anderson previously served on the board of J.M. Huber Energy Corporation. He is a member and past chairman of the Dallas Chapter SPEE. Mr. Anderson received a B.S. (honors) in civil engineering from the University of Connecticut, an M.S. in civil engineering from Columbia University and a Master of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from Tulane University.

Jon Dormer

Jonathan E. Dormer is a Managing Partner for Anderson King Energy Consultants, LLC (“AK”). His experience includes advising on over 100 divestitures, acquisitions and capital-raising assignments for public and private upstream energy companies. Noteworthy transactions managed by Mr. Dormer include Treadstone’s $715MM sale to ENXP, Plano’s $125MM sale to Templar, Willow Bend’s $75MM sale, and Marshall R. Young Oil Company’s exit from the Barnett Shale and Permian Basin. Prior to the formation of Anderson King in 2012, Jon served as President of Centergy Advisors LLC (“Centergy”), an upstream acquisition and divestiture advisory firm he founded in 2007. Centergy successfully closed over 30 separate transactions as financial advisor or co-advisor with Anderson O&G, Inc.

Prior to forming Centergy, Mr. Dormer served as Vice President of Energy Spectrum Advisors Inc., where he focused on business development and execution of divestiture assignments. Prior to Energy Spectrum, Mr. Dormer served as Vice President of Corporate Finance at Frost Securities, Inc., where he focused on various sell-side and capital raising assignments involving public upstream energy companies. Prior to Frost Securities, Mr. Dormer served as Vice President of R. Reid Investments Inc., where he focused on divestiture and acquisition financing assignments. Mr. Dormer began his career within Exploration & Production at Coastal Oil & Gas, Inc.

Mr. Dormer received his BA in Accounting from Texas A&M University and his Masters of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

 

David Miller, PE

David T. Miller, PE, is a Partner for Anderson King Energy Consultants, LLC (“AK”). Mr. Miller is a registered petroleum engineer in Texas and Louisiana.  Prior to joining AK, Mr. Miller was a Vice President - Senior Technical Advisor and partner of Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc.  At Netherland Sewell he served as project leader for domestic clients in most of the major U.S. basins as well as for clients in South America, Europe, and Africa. These studies involved reserves and economic evaluations of unconventional developments, enhanced oil recovery evaluations (waterfloods, CO2-floods, and steam-floods) and re-cycling projects for reserve reporting and A&D transaction purposes. His clients included PDVSA, Repsol, YPF, Pecten (Shell), Antero, Tellus, and Resolute Natural Resources.

Prior to joining Netherland Sewell in 1997, Mr. Miller held positions as reservoir engineering manager and investor relations manager with Maxus Energy and engineering positions with Exxon Company U.S.A.  Mr. Miller received a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky, and a Masters of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Kim Moseley

Kimberly Moseley is a Senior Associate for Anderson King Energy Consultants, LLC ("AK"). During her 13 years of industry experience, Mrs. Moseley has been an integral part of over 57 transactions totaling $13.8B. Her experience covers strategic advisory and technical consulting with an emphasis on divestitures, acquisitions, and reserves analysis engagements across a broad range of asset types, covering most major North American basins.

Mrs. Moseley forms meaningful relationships with clients and plays an essential role in all major phases of an engagement. She collaborates and communicates across disciplines ensuring the highest level of quality and asset value maximization.

Prior to the formation of AK, Mrs. Moseley was an analyst for Anderson O&G, Inc. from 2005 to 2012. She began her career as an engineering and geologic technician at Wynn-Crosby Energy and Petrohawk Energy Corporation in 2004. Mrs. Moseley received her B.A. degree with concentrations in Business Administration and Computer Science (summa cum laude), from Texas Woman’s University.

John Thomason, CPA

John Thomason, CPA is an Associate for Anderson King Energy Consultants, LLC ("AK"). Since joining AK in 2013, Mr. Thomason has experience in a wide spectrum of strategic advisory engagements ranging from $5MM to over $1B and covering most major US basins.

He integrates with both upstream and midstream clientele to effectively navigate the acquisition and divestiture process. With his deep financial background, he provides a key resource and perspective, including financial modeling and asset valuation.

Prior to joining AK, Mr. Thomason was an Assurance Associate with McGladrey LLP where he specialized in financial statement audits for financial service clients, including private equity groups and hedge funds. Mr. Thomason is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas and holds a B.S. degree (summa cum laude) and M.S. degree (high honors) in Accounting and Information Management from The University of Texas at Dallas.

Andrea Hagen

Andrea Hagen is an Office Manager for Anderson King Energy Consultants, LLC (“AK”). Mrs. Hagen’s oil and gas experience began in 2013 with Wynn Crosby Management, Ltd where she allocated and coded over 150 invoices weekly, managed the Master Service Agreements and Pumper Contracts, organized and managed well files, and supported the Operations team with general administrative tasks.

Mrs. Hagen applies her strong organizational skills to assist with running efficient A&D processes and provides direct support to the Anderson King team for all administrative and logistical planning tasks.

Mrs. Hagen received her B.A. degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Deb Freeman
Consulting Senior Analyst 
 
Debra Freeman is a Consulting Senior Engineering Analyst for Anderson King Energy Consultants, LLC (“AK”). Mrs. Freeman joined Anderson O&G, Inc. (“AOG”) in 2005 and her experience includes building large (3000+ properties) reserves databases utilizing accounting, land, and production information from all producing states. She has developed type curves and built multi-rig, multi-year reserves and economic models for clients in the Barnett Shale, Bakken, Gulf of Mexico, and other plays. Prior to joining AOG, Mrs. Freeman managed the reserves database and performed A&D analysis for Wynn-Crosby Energy, Inc. She also developed models for projects in Europe and Africa during her tenure at Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc.

Mrs. Freeman began her career in oil and gas consulting with Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc. in 1991, where she was part of the team that conceived Netherland’s annual seminar for members of the finance industry. Mrs. Freeman holds a B.A. degree in Mathematics, summa cum laude, from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa.

Tom Ervin

Thomas J. Ervin is a Partner for Anderson King Energy Consultants, LLC ("AK"). He has 30 years of technical and financial experience in the energy industry, including twelve years in the exploration and production business, followed by five years of corporate development activity in the gas gathering, processing, and marketing industry with Endevco, Inc. and Tristar Gas Company. His experience includes evaluation of assets and business ventures, project analysis, project development, project finance, and strategic planning. Mr. Ervin joined R. Reid Investments, Inc, in 1996 and served as a Managing Director from 2000 until 2004. He has served as a senior advisor on merger, acquisition, divestiture, and financing assignments while at Reid and was responsible for existing investment banking relationships and the solicitation of new business opportunities. In January 2004, Mr. Ervin formed EeTradeco LLC to provide financial advisory, consulting, and acquisition and divestiture services to the energy industry. Mr. Ervin is a member of the Acquisitions Divestitures and Mergers Energy Forum, and SIPES.

Mr. Ervin received his B.S. in Geology from the University of Alabama and his Masters of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
